Guide for Using Recycled Materials
This guide aims to support NSW councils in using recycled materials and is an update to the IPWEA NSW Specification for Supply of Recycled Material for Pavements, Earthworks, and Drainage, 2010.
Background
The IPWEA NSW Specification for Supply of Recycled Material for Pavements, Earthworks, and Drainage was published in 2010. Since then, the focus on utilising recycled materials in infrastructure development has continued to grow. As a result, various specifications and standards have been developed with the inclusion of emerging materials and blends.
However, it has been identified that there is a lack of standardised guidance. Therefore, the RTD is developing a practical guide which aims to address challenges and provide case studies to support NSW councils in making informed decisions for utilising recycled materials in pavements, earthworks, and drainage.
